2027 Budget and Our Path Forward
Posted on Oct 6th, 2026
The 2027 Budget that was recently approved by the Board will be mailed to your address on file prior to the end of the month. Ahead of that mailing, the Board wants to share additional details regarding the upcoming budget and assessment, which were thoroughly reviewed during our last two meetings.
Over the past several years, Fairlington Towne has made a significant financial turnaround. We went from having almost nothing in reserves and facing the possibility of special assessments or loans to building a much stronger financial foundation. That progress has allowed us to begin addressing projects that were deferred during those difficult years — but it doesn't diminish the important work ahead of us.
We know that the monthly assessment increase is significant, and we want residents to understand where that money is going, why these investments are necessary, and how the Board is prioritizing projects.
We have included two documents to help :
- Our 2027 Budget Letter provides the details behind the assessment increase, reserve funding, operating costs, insurance, projects, and major budget changes.
- The accompanying graphic, “Our Path to Financial Stability and a Stronger Community,” provides a simple visual timeline of where we were, how we got here, what we have accomplished along the way, and what comes next.
We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to review both. Together, they provide a more complete picture of the work underway to protect our homes, strengthen our reserves, address deferred maintenance, and position Fairlington Towne for long-term financial stability.
Thank you for taking the time to understand the decisions being made on behalf of our community. We recognize that these are important investments, and we take seriously our responsibility to make those decisions thoughtfully, transparently, and with the future of Fairlington Towne in mind.
Best Regards,
The Board of Directors,
Fairlington Towne, A Condominium Unit Owners Association
