The Association has been informed that the demolition of the old Minnie Howard school is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 9. They will be using construction machinery similar to an excavator to steadily bring down the old school. Demolition in it’s entirety is anticipated to last 4-6 weeks, all weather dependent.  Because this is being done with heavy equipment it is a slower process to demolish the building, sort debris and haul away of the debris.  The demolition process will be supplemented with water spray as needed to control dust.  Steps have been taken to mitigate any potential rodent activity from both the Association and the Minnie Howard development team which includes the sealing of exterior points of entry for homes immediately behind the school, strategically placed bait stations around the school, and a barrier to prevent the rodents from leaving the demolition area. A vibration monitor has also been placed on the school side of the perimeter fence to monitor activity and the impact of this demolition.
